The Olympics are not on quite the same level as the Super Bowl for advertising, but that has not stopped brands from snapping up over $1 billion worth of ads space.

Here are two noteworthy spots, one creative website, and one commercial that makes you ask “what were they thinking?”.

 

    • Both Nike and Southern Comfort rolled out new ads from Wieden + Kennedy.

  • Oreo’s Daily Twist website gives you a new Oreo design based of something happening that day. Take a look at August 5th if you are a NASA fan.
  • Ragu tried to blend sexual innuendo and pasta sauce. The result is nothing short of strange.
