- Show attendance has been mild for the first three days which is more reminiscent of Print05 than last years more bustling Graph Expo.
- Cooperation between vendors is being taken to levels never before seen as highlighted in the Print Show Daily article.
- Digital presses are everywhere but the traditional offset press manufacturers. Printers are considering when, not if, to buy digital and now they have a large selection of devices from many players.
- Just like printers, vendors are taking new approaches in marketing and attending the show. Vendors are using streaming video, YouTube, microsites, blogs, and Twitter, to reach those who are not attending the show.
- Kodak substituted the Nexpress with a talk show stage and some cutting edge, interactive technology on the show floor. “Cool” seems to be show patrons response but will the George Jetson booth translate into benefit for customers and sales? As an interesting side note, the digital billboard above the “Pipeline of Innovation” is technology from a former graphic arts competitor.
- There appears to be more vendors and print news personalities on Twitter than actual printers based off of the #print09 feeds. Hopefully this will change soon.
