Sure Bet – 3 out of 4 predictions true for EFI Connect 2009

In the post from June 22nd, there were four predictions made as to what would be shown at the EFI Connect 2009 user group conference. The only prediction that did not come true was the acquisition of another company to further the EFI product portfolio as in last year’s ePace announcement. In Vegas, 75% odds are a sure bet. Read below for the updates.

Three Likely Outcomes

  1. Process Improvement sessions will be a hit as printers seek advice in the current economic environment.
UPDATE: Speeches by Guy Gecht (review post) and Rick Littrell, along with numerous sessions, focus on the changes necessary to be a successful printer.
  2. The Monarch software suite will offer better integration to Digital Storefront and 3rd party prepress systems like Kodak’s Prinergy.
UPDATE: EFI continued to build and show 3rd party integration with other vendors with Heidelberg’s Prinect system.
  3. A full year of joint development translates into big gains for former ePace users.
UPDATE: Attended a session on the integration between Pace (MIS) and Printflow (scheduling) which is just one enhancement made to Pace over the past year.
